A little preparation makes the difference

Give saffron time
to open up.

Start with the measured amount in your recipe. Gently crushing and infusing the threads helps distribute their colour and aroma through rice, pasta, milk or a delicate sauce.

  1. Crush gently

Use a small mortar to break up the threads. Measure the amount your recipe calls for.

  2. Make a warm infusion

Add a little warm, non-boiling water or milk. Leave for 10–20 minutes.

  3. Cook with the whole infusion

Add the liquid and threads at the stage specified in your recipe. Keep the remaining saffron dry and protected from light.

What does Special Grade tell me?

Eurofins used this designation in its assessment of batch L2025-01 under ISO 3632-1:2025. The standard calls its highest quality class Extra Class. The published results apply to the tested batch. Read the full explanation.

Which pack should I start with?
