Saffrona at Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2026

At Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2026, Saffrona brings the stories, products and people behind selected Afghan food communities to Turin. As part of the international network brought together by Slow Food, the event connects food communities around the principles of good, clean and fair food for all. Rooted in Herat and connected directly with saffron growers and local producers, Saffrona acts as a bridge between Afghanistan’s food heritage and the European market. Our participation is about more than presenting Afghan saffron: it is about creating connections, giving visibility to producers and communities, and bringing their knowledge, products and stories into an international dialogue around food, biodiversity and sustainable food systems.
